FABRIC
Please refer to the FABRIC REQUIREMENT CHART as one of the last images on this product listing. You can magnify this image by clicking on it if viewing on a mobile phone whilst in a fabric store.
The Classic Pants or shorts are designed for light to mid-weight WOVEN fabrics.
We highly recommend linen, cotton drill or cotton sateen. Well draped wool and wool blends are great for winter.
*Please also note that all (new) fabric should be pre-washed in case of shrinkage. 100% cotton & linen will shrink during the first wash. It doesn't hurt to be safe and remove any dodgy chemical build-up that may have occurred during printing anyway.

WHAT DO I GET WITH MY PURCHASE?
Please note you are purchasing a digital pattern that will be sent directly to your email inbox after payment. *You will not receive a hard copy printed pattern.*
You will receive a link to download 3 different PDF files:
1. Instructions
2. Print at home Pattern Tiles (PAH=Print at home)
For printing in A4 or US Letter on a home printer. Printing at home is the most cost-effective, and sticking your pattern tiles together to make your full size pattern is easy. Further information for printing at home can be found in our Resources section here.
3. Large scale Pattern file (AO) for taking to your local Print Shop
AO is a large scale file designed to be printed at a Print Copy Shop. You cannot print this on your home printer as it is too big. If you choose to use this large file you will pay extra to have it printed but you do not have to stick anything together.
You can use the ADOBE LAYERS FEATURE to open the PAH pattern file and print only the size you need (and eliminate the "noise" of the unwanted sizes). You can also use the URL and bookmark links within the file to quickly access information and support. Download Adobe Reader for free (for Windows and Mac) here.

Classic pant and shorts
I made a pair of shorts first, instruction were easy to follow. I hadn’t made pockets like that before but they came together well. I find them quite roomy so I shall go down a size when I make the pants.

Love this pattern
Very please with this pattern. I will be buying more patterns in the future.
Great pattern
I made the shorts and found the pattern and instructions really good and easy to use. I repurposed the fabric from a linen shift dress and am very pleased with the result

I love this pattern
This pattern is quick and easy to sew up. It has great instructions and the finished shorts fit beautifully. It's helped me get my sewing mojo back - I've made three pairs now :)

So amazingly easy!
This is the very first pair of trousers I have ever made. And I’m so happy! Easy to follow instructions. They fit so well and look great. The flat front waist works so well with the elastic at the back. Great support from TSR when I needed it. First pair made in black linen for my daughter. Will be making more. For me!
The Sewing Revival
Hi Karen. Thanks for taking the time to review, and to add a photo of your make Karen. I am thrilled you love your new Classic Pants. May I suggest you test out a sample (in cheap fabric or an upcycled cotton sheet) in a size smaller next time. The pants look a little big in the butt area which is likely easily fixed by making one size smaller. If you love them the way they are - then that's fabulous.....and it's only a suggestion.

Great trouser pattern!
Easy to use, clear instructions, versatile pattern. This is my 2nd pattern from you,

Classic Pant and Short
Great pattern, even for a newbie. We have now made 3 pairs of the pants and one pair of shorts, all successful. The support from Sewing Revival was amazing, with a very prompt and helpful email when I needed it. A really nice fit for an elastic waist.

Classic pant and short
Very good pattern, the pants fit very well. I live the Classic yet comfortable style.

easy peasy!
great pattern! lots of compliments

classic pant and short pattern
sorry, but I have not yet used the pattern

Totally amazing pants!
I made a size 12. Making shorts first as a wearable muslin was a no brainer, and when they fitted so well - I did add 0.5” to the back rise afterwards, but that’s all - I went ahead and made long straight leg pants, and I have to say, these are the BEST fitting pants I have ever made! Seriously. Well done Janine, this is a fantastic design! I used cotton poplin which worked really well, but I’m aiming to use some of my nice linen and linen blends now. And, I am going to try out the other pattern I bought at the same time, the Sidewinder pants, as I now know how the crotch curve and length fits. Thank you Sewing Revival.

Perfect Pants
What a joy - easy to follow - easy to make - so comfortable to wear, and very flattering. What more could you want?! I made these pants in black linen for a Greek Island Vacation. Lots of compliments on how well these fit and styled with everything - particularly the Fantail Tank - a winning combo.

Beautiful pants
Lovely pants style, can be dressed up or down , pattern so easy to follow, recommend them and I will Be making more

Awesome partern
Love these pants and the fit. Have made them twice and intend to make more. SO comfortable and flattering for my curves. Easy pattern to put together with the simple, easy guidance that is included. Pattern was easy to cut out, make up with great instructions. Love Sewing Revival. I highly recommend them and their patterns. I plan to buy more and tell my friends thank you so much.

Excellent linen trousers
I’m not usually a fan of elasticated waist trousers due to the bunching at the rear, but these really are minimally gathered and I love them for it! The flat front is so flattering. I didn’t change a thing, not even the rise, so these are an absolute winner for me. I’m going to make the shorts version and I’m also going to widen the leg for a cropped version. Highly recommended.

A promising pattern, but I will need to make mods
I made a test garment, size Medium, from an old bed sheet so these comments are based on the test garment. The pattern was easy to cut out and sew. Love the size of the pockets. Could not find out via online reviews whether I should do a flat bum adjustment, so I didn't. But at 5' tall, I found the legs are really wide. So I will need to adjust that, maybe by taking it in a lot on the inside seam. Then i may need to do a flat bum adjustment. When I've done that I can tell whether I love the pattern or not.

Classic Pants
This is a great pattern, relatively quick and easy to make. I made a a bias binding faux hem to keep the length. Love the flat front and angled pockets. I feel quite put together when wearing them

Perfect Shorts
Great shorts pattern with just the right amount of gather. I have made them twice already, the second time I widened the waistband and use three rows of thinner elastic which sits better than the wider elastic. I also added a faux fly.

Verry good fit
Explanations are clear and easy to use.
