So, I have a little bit of a fabric fetish that extends way beyond silk, merino wool and organic cottons....I've been collecting retro cotton sheets (for years) with the premise they make lovely cheap fabric to test new patterns, and in lots of cases they have become wearable toiles. OK - so in lots of cases, I have guarded them as almost as precious as those other "precious" fabrics you save for best.
And now we are in isolation. What better time to sew up some of those gorgeous retro sheets into beautiful garments?
I hope this inspires you to look at your linen cupboard a little differently...and maybe also check out your local Thrift Shop for pre-loved sheets and duvet covers (in good condition of course), that may be waiting for a second, more up-market, chance in life.....
