Printing large scale at the Print Shop

For most patterns you also receive an AO PDF file. AO is large scale and only printable at a Print Shop as each sheet is 118.9cm x 84.1cm (1.18m x .84m) or 46.8x33.1 inches.

If you print your pattern in large scale you do not have to tape and compile the pattern like you do with a PAH (Print-at-home) pattern tile, however, most print companies charge around $NZD 6-7 per AO page. Refer the "SIZE & FITTING OPTIONS" tab on each pattern for the number of AO pages required for your pattern. We do try to minimise this as much as possible.

There are several ways to print your large scale AO file:

1. You can either save the AO pattern file to a USB drive and physically take it along to your local print and copy shop. Remind them to print a 100% actual scale. Black and white is also much cheaper and we differentiate the sizes with a range of line markings (a key is provided).

2. You may prefer to upload the file to a print shop that has an online printing service. Simply follow the instructions on their website. You are often required to choose the "plan" printing option (check you are selecting the AO paper size).

 Please note that some online print shops reject files that have been password protected. The list below recommends online print stores that accept and print our AO patterns. Please note we are working on adding and refreshing this list, if you have had a positive experience with an online print company, please let us know.

Other options: Some print companies may not have a function on their website to upload a document but they are happy to print one if you email them the file directly. We suggest simply contacting them by email first.
