WHAT DO I GET WITH MY PURCHASE?

Please note you are purchasing a digital pattern that will be sent directly to your email inbox after payment. You can print this pattern at home on A4 or US letter-sized paper or take it to a print shop for large scale printing (AO size). *You will not receive a hard copy printed pattern.*

Instant download available immediately after checkout includes:

    1. Instructions

    2. PAH Pattern file (PAH=Print at home)
For printing in A4 or US Letter on a home printer. Printing at home is the most cost-effective, and sticking your pattern tiles together to make your full size pattern is easy. Further information for printing at home can be found in our Resources section here.

    3. AO Pattern file
AO is a large scale file designed to be printed at a Print Copy Shop. You cannot print this on your home printer as it is too big. If you choose to use this large file you will pay extra to have it printed but you do not have to stick anything together.

You can use the ADOBE LAYERS FEATURE to open the PAH pattern file and print only the size you need (and eliminate the "noise" of the unwanted sizes). You can also use the URL and bookmark links within the file to quickly access information and support. Download Adobe Reader for free (for Windows and Mac) here.

    Loving my Nikau pattern

I have made one dress with a narrow belt and am finishing my second with the wide belt. For both I narrowed the sleeves ( I am not an Anne of Green Gables style girl) and for the second dress I shortened the sleeve to a short sleeve. I found the size very roomy on the first and so made it in the smallest size ( I bought M/L) for the second which fitted me better. The V in the neck is also very deep and I had to sew that up a few centimetres. I love the versatility of the pattern and the sleeve and belt options. It is a perfect dress for our Durban, South Africa winters. I am going to make a sleeveless one for summer.

    Easy Sew, Fitting Issues

I made the sleepless version of this dress for my daughter, who is short (5’3”) and curvy. I cut between a 10 and a 12. going by her measurements, and raised the waist an inch and took 2 inches off the hem. Unfortunately, she lives quite a distance away, and I was not able to fit it as I sewed. The armsyces were too low, and the top too roomy for her liking. I should have done a muslin first, but I’m not sure I would have had better success with fitting the bodice and armsyces without more tailoring experience (it may just not be the best pattern for shorter frames). The pattern was easy to follow and sewed up beautifully in a seersucker, though. This is my second Sewing Revival pattern (I made the Fernbird for myself), and I will definitely be making more.

Easy To Make a Beautiful Dress!

I recently created two Nikau dresses for my family vacation. I loved both the 3/4 sleeve and sleeveless versions. The pattern is user friendly with intuitive instructions. Very easy to succeed with this lovely pattern.

    Lovely Shape

I made the version with sleeves and was aiming for casual but also meeting appropriate, it turned out pretty well. I decided to go with the un-belted look and while it is loose fitting the shape is lovely and the sleeves are perfect.
