An easily constructed sewing pattern with a large range of options, the V Neck flounce ensures a feminine modern statement. Sew this as a dress with or without sleeves, a tank for summer or shirt for winter. Instructions include an easy step to add a full back pleat to the shirt if you please.

FABRIC
Please refer to the FABRIC REQUIREMENT CHART as one of the last images on this product listing. You can magnify this image by clicking on it if viewing on a mobile phone whilst in a fabric store.
The Flounce Tank & Shirt is designed for light-weight woven linen, cotton lawn, rayon or viscose.
The Flounce Dress works best is mid weight linen but equally can be sewn in a satin for evening or special occassion wear.
*Please also note that all (new) fabric should be pre-washed in case of shrinkage. 100% cotton & linen will shrink during the first wash. It doesn't hurt to be safe and remove any dodgy chemical build-up that may have occurred during printing anyway.

You will receive a link to download 3 different PDF files:

For printing in A4 or US Letter on a home printer. Printing at home is the most cost-effective, and sticking your pattern tiles together to make your full size pattern is easy. Further information for printing at home can be found in our Resources section here.
3. Large scale Pattern file (AO) for taking to your local Print Shop
AO is a large scale file designed to be printed at a Print Copy Shop. You cannot print this on your home printer as it is too big. If you choose to use this large file you will pay extra to have it printed but you do not have to stick anything together.
You can use the ADOBE LAYERS FEATURE to open the PAH pattern file and print only the size you need (and eliminate the "noise" of the unwanted sizes). You can also use the URL and bookmark links within the file to quickly access information and support. Download Adobe Reader for free (for Windows and Mac) here.

United KingdomLove it but needed pattern alteration knowledge
The instructions are clear and very easy to follow. I loved how it turned out but was super glad I’d made a toile. The arm hole is very low in the sleeveless version and I ended up having to raise the armhole by 2 inches in order to hide my bra. It’s an easy adjustment, but not one I had expected to have to make. I will be making this again and recommend it to a friend who is a newish sewer and she loved the outcome too.

I have so enjoyed making this Flounce Dress. I have a question regarding the Flounce. One side seems to be more “flouncy” than the other. I want to make another but want to perfect it. Advice please? Could it be the grain? Thank you

Re one side being more "flouncy" - may I suggest you check you have the top and bottom of the flounce correct (the pointiest end of the flounce is at the centre front). I used the pattern to make a sleeveless top in white linen. The fit is perfect, even the bust darts are placed perfectly for my body shape. Pattern instructions were clear, the process straightforward and enjoyable. I made another top (without flounce) because of the great fit, and consider making a dress as well. Highly recommended.

This is a simple, easy and lovely dress pattern. The sizing is good and accurate and the instructions are easy to understand. I made the dress and will be making the shirt with the back pleat- hack soon.
CanadaFlounce dress
I’m a beginner’ish sewer, so I made the dress with the help of a very experienced seamstress. I think I would’ve had trouble doing the dress on my own. Thankfully, she has a surger, so she was able to do the edging of the flounce on the surger. I think it would not have looked great using the zigzag stitch on my sewing machine. I modified the dress to be long and I put a slit in the one side. Overall, it turned out nice, but the neck is not 100% due to the multiple layers of fabric and it was difficult to get a clean sharp edge. I might actually try this pattern again in a different colour just for practice.

I an quite a new-ish sewer, but I know Janine's patterns will always work for me. I think this is my 6th pattern. I always feel confident because I now I know my size in these patterns I can go straight in and cut out my size without doing a toille. The instructions are always so brilliantly written and hold your hand all the way through. The thing I love is that there are so many options within the one pattern, which makes the cost of the pattern great value.

I have bought and made a few Sewing Revival patterns and have been pleased with all of them. I loved the look of the Flounce dress and top. I made a wearable toile of the Flounce top. It went together beautifully. I used my overlocker to make the frills and it was so easy and looked so effective. The top is gorgeous but a bit too big around the armholes for me. I have managed to fit it okay though. I suspect I made it too big so plan to make a smaller size next time. It's a really lovely pattern and one of the prettiest and stylish things I've ever made. Love it.

Overall, the pattern was easy to put together using the layer feature, and the instructions were pretty clear. I got a little tripped up on the ruffle. Once I figured that out, the rest was pretty clear. I love the finished product. My next project with this pattern will be grasshopper green linen in a full dress.

I made this dress in a rich green linen and was thrilled with the result. I used the rolled hem function on my overlocker for the edge of the flounces and this gave a nice finish on the medium weight linen. Using an all in one facing for the neck and armholes gave a nice clean result. Overall a simple shift dress with that extra flounce made for a timeless dress that I will wear again and again. Great design excellent instructions. Thank you.
