Classic Shirt

The Classic Shirt is a wardrobe work horse, able to be flashed up for work or special occassions, or chic relaxed in the weekend.  Tailored or looser bodice options (with back darts, pleat or gather), several sleeve and collar options, this is more of a design-it-yourself shirt.

This shirt is part of the D-I-Y Shirt Collection (Design-It-Yourself) with a range of sleeve and collar expansion packs (Add Ons) - so you can sew your own design like a high street designer.

A. Make it a tailored fit for chic work styling or modern casual with jeans.

B. Increase the back ease with the pleat or gathered back options

C. Design a style with everything in between. Darted, pleated or gathered back, standard or contrasting button stand plus collar and sleeve options will turn one sewing pattern into at least 12 different shirt options (and that's before you've even played with the sleeve expansion packs)!

The Classic shirt is perfect for light to mid weight WOVEN FABRIC.
We highly recommend cotton and light weight linen.

Choose the syle for the fit you want to acheive.

STYLE A - Tailored fit (back darts provide shape at the waist)
STYLES B & C - are a looser fit through the bust and waist.

Designed for a "C" cup there is a VIDEO TUTORIAL on how to complete an easy FBA (Full bust adjustment) for larger busts. If you have a larger bust (and do not wish to complete an FBA) you may like the iGathered Shirt and dress which has much more ease around the chest.

Please note you are purchasing a digital pattern that will be sent directly to your email inbox after payment. You can print this pattern at home on A4 or US letter-sized paper or take it to a print shop for large scale printing (AO size). *You will not receive a hard copy printed pattern.*

For printing in A4 or US Letter on a home printer. Printing at home is the most cost-effective, and sticking your pattern tiles together to make your full size pattern is easy. Further information for printing at home can be found in our Resources section here. 

3. AO Pattern file
AO is a large scale file designed to be printed at a Print Copy Shop. You cannot print this on your home printer as it is too big. If you choose to use this large file you will pay extra to have it printed but you do not have to stick anything together.

You can use the ADOBE LAYERS FEATURE to open the PAH pattern file and print only the size you need (and eliminate the "noise" of the unwanted sizes).
