Size

A paneled cape with tie belted waist, the Kea Cape is easy to sew & a little bit different. Feminine, flowing and practical, it will keep you warm at the park or the opera. Easy to sew, the tie belt is inserted through the front and back of the Cape for a flattering silhouette. Slightly curved over the chest to flatter the bust with an easily adjustable A-symmetrical hem line lowering at the back.  Perfect for confident beginners, the cape is mostly straight or slightly curved lines with a little bit of top stitching around the arm and belt openings.

*Please note : Care needs to be taken when washing wool and wool blends and you should follow the fabric manufacturer's care instructions.

DIFFICULTY

Difficulty 2/5

Suitable for Confident Beginners/Intermediate sewers. The Kea Cape is able to be sewn with or without an overlocker (serger) to neaten the raw edges of the seams. There are no zips or button holes and the style is a relaxed fit.

WHAT DO I GET WITH MY PURCHASE?

Please note you are purchasing a digital pattern that will be sent directly to your email inbox after payment. You can print this pattern at home on A4 or US letter-sized paper or take it to a print shop for large scale printing (AO size). *You will not receive a hard copy printed pattern.*

Instant download available immediately after checkout includes:

1. Instructions

2. PAH Pattern file (PAH=Print at home)
For printing in A4 or US Letter on a home printer. Printing at home is the most cost-effective, and sticking your pattern tiles together to make your full size pattern is easy. Further information for printing at home can be found in our Resources section here.

3. AO Pattern file
AO is a large scale file designed to be printed at a Print Copy Shop. You cannot print this on your home printer as it is too big. If you choose to use this large file you will pay extra to have it printed but you do not have to stick anything together.

You can use the ADOBE LAYERS FEATURE to open the PAH pattern file and print only the size you need (and eliminate the "noise" of the unwanted sizes). You can also use the URL and bookmark links within the file to quickly access information and support. Download Adobe Reader for free (for Windows and Mac) here.

Love my KEA cape

I love your patterns. The styles are easy to wear and I especially like the instructions for getting such a nice finish on the garments

Kea Cape

It was an easy sew. The directions were on point. And the markings were very useful. I will look forward to sewing more patterns from The Sewing Revival in the future.

Wonderful pattern

I am really pleased with how this pattern worked out. I printed the pdf at home, and it was quite easy to assemble. I tweaked the pattern a bit to match my style, the pattern was a perfect start for this. I’ll definitely order again in the future!

Easy stylish pattern

This is the third pattern I have bought (kea cape, egret top/dress, fernbird dress) from sewing revival, love the simple quick sew designs and get lots of compliments. I do tend to find the neck openings a little too wide on me so adjust those in but otherwise great fit.

Gorgeous and surprisingly simple cape!

This pattern is fantastic! I was nervous about making something that had darts and a curved front but it worked like a dream and was really easy to follow! I made it first in a forest green and now I am making it in a blush pink. I have promised myself a mustard one when I can find the right fabric!

Really enjoyed using this pattern. It was easy to download , copy and construct. Have had so many comments and questions asking which shop I bought my cape from. My husband said it looked like It was from the catwalk.

Kea Cape

Very impressed - putting the pattern was fun with my nephew helping. I made this cape up quite easily as have been a sewer for many years but think that there needs to be more diagrams on making up the item for inexperienced sewers. Sizing was perfect. Cape looks great - I would definitely buy from you again
