A simple & classic shoulder bag with an internal pocket. Your choice of an adjustable or fixed length strap. We have had great fun using old leather belts from the second-hand store (be sure to use a leather needle in your domestic sewing machine) as well as nylon webbing straps. You can also sew your own fabric strap.
The red bag pictured has a fixed length strap cut from part of an old red leather belt.
The mustard coloured bag has a nylon strap with an adjustable slider (instructions for all strap options included in the PDF pattern).
Sew an optional internal pocket to your bag lining and you have easy access to your phone, pen and keys.

FABRIC
Please refer to the FABRIC REQUIREMENT CHART as one of the last images on this product listing. You can magnify this image if viewing it on a mobile phone whilst in a fabric store.
Heavy weight fabric is best (cotton drill, canvas, oilskin, denim, vinyl, or upholstery fabric) and our samples are all lined with cotton sheets which make the bag economical, funky and we're doing our bit on the recycling front.
The bag can have very different looks depending on the fabric you choose.

Very clear, detailed instructions, and I love my new bag! Planning to make more as Christmas presents. The only thing to add to the instructions might be re adding the strap. I used a leather belt, and I had to work out which way it should be sewn so that once completed, the belt buckle faced outwards not inwards . Otherwise, the whole pattern was so good, such a great shape, and I’m taking it travelling with me
